Until you have found yourself doing the unimaginable, despicable, you will never know. Until you have caused immeasurable pain and suffering to those you love most, you will never know. Until you find yourself dragging in the gutter not wanting to stand, you will never know. Until you surrender, you will never know the joy of sobriety. Eighteen years ago tonight I took what I pray was my last drink. Tomorrow I begin year nineteen. Thank you Bill W.

Congratulations, Helen! This is the best accomplishment & quite honestly, the beginning of all that matters. As bad as things may get sometimes, we can always look back & remember they were once much worse. Hope is a wonderful thing.
